The best way to find out information about what JWs do and don't do is by asking JWs directly and/or by going to their official website.
Just sayin'
😂
I'm guessing this is satire.
I'm hoping this is satire.
what's the official teaching on celebrating this jewish festival?.

This is a good question to make a JW think . . . Because Paul was talking SPECIFICALLY about Jewish festivals when he said that it's up to each individual Christian conscience to decide weather to observe them or not.
go to jw.org and watch some of the caleb and sophia videos in solomon islands pidgin language.
hilarious!.
I've always loved reading that language for laughs (not making fun of people who speak it, I just think it's cute). I've still got a few WT/A! magazines in SIP
it’s already been disgusted how mathew 18: verses 18 on showing that there’s not a cut and dry way to enforce a rule or law in another thread i started.
but let’s look at verse 16 the verse they like to quote.
the verse isn’t talking about having two witnesses to a crime or a wrong doing , it’s saying if you have a problem with a brother and he’s not willing to listen to your side off the issue to take some witnesses with you that agree with you to help establish that your point of view is in fact correct.
Exactly! It was incredibly stupid of them to make that recent morning worship video about the two witness rule, because up until that point most R&F JWs didn't even know about it in this context. They could've changed it and been a little easier. But now just like the blood doctrine, the more time that passes the more casualties add up, and the greater the probability of liability.
ok, so what are the most deceptive comments that you have heard from your experience in congregations?.
my top three are;.
1) service overseer during the ’ how did we do?’ annual talk, twisted the figures to such an extent that it looked like the congregations ministry was in tip-top shape.
The two separate instances of ministerial servants being removed right after the CO's visit because their service hours were below quota, but both of them saving face by telling everyone that they 'decided' to step down for personal reasons.
just wondering.
when i was a witness, we had presiding overseer, and would say p-o for short.
do they spell it out when they say cobe or do they say it with as a word?
Standing for "Coordinator of the Body of Elders" the acronym is COTBOE, with a silent T, pronounced "ko-bee".
replace one word in a song title with the word 'elder/s'.. eg.
the elders are back in town' (boys).
smoke on the elder (water).
Was you last topic deleted or something? To bad, I thought it was pretty funny.
it is kind of a puzzle, only one of the 4 is real, but all have been mentioned by wt.
i am ham fisted, but will try to re-post in a while.
the line leads to 2075. try it, then read the quote.
You just qualified for promotion to the writing department. 👍
i'm sure the date january 2018 + 'message of judgement' has been kicking around the exjw's various forums for a while now, and the more i think about it, the more i get worried.
not for myself really, but for my mother especially.
i guess you could consider her to be pomi (physically out, mentally in) she's faded in the sense that she doesn't go to meetings, doesn't really live by many of the rules any longer, is in a relationship with a worldly man, etc etc etc, however, she still considers herself to be a witness, and will defend the org if need be.
"Message of Judgment" in 2018? Are you referring to less magazines a year and getting rid of magazine routes? If so, don't get yourself worried, this isn't about increasing the urgency of the message, that's just an excuse to print less, just like they've been downsizing for years to save money.
as someone who has been out a while, i wondered what publications a jw would turn to now if they want to do serious bible research.
are there any meaty jw publications left?
i haven't heard of the insight books being revised.
The insight books were very lightly 'revised' a few years back, nothing major, just getting rid of 'old understandings'. Not available in hard copy anymore. Like has been said, the move is towards 'simplification', or as we call it here: dumbing down. Right now the closest thing to a revised version of the Insight books is the glossary in the back of the RNWT. Instead of the Watchtower Publications Index, now we have the magazine sized kindergarten level Study Guide. There's the Greek Interlinear, King James, etc. versions on the app, but these are just used as digital 'trophy' Bibles, not used seriously by anyone (unless they're waking up).
